On Saturday the temperatures were brutally cold in NYC but there were a few patches of open water in The Lake in Central Park where lots of Canada Geese and a few Northern Shovelers were crowded together.
Today (February 2) we are in the midst of a blizzard. It’s to rough to go out in it. Maybe I’ll get to go to the park before it melts later in the week between appointments.
The first picture has an ice formation that looks like a bird.

Brrr, brrr, and brrr. Thanks for these fantastic photos of the ice and brutal winter in NYC, Sherry. I espec. liked the icy bird sculpture in the first photo. I was glad you said what it was, and I found it easy to pull out once you did. Ice can be so stunningly beautiful…if only it wasn’t so cold. 😉 Stay warm, my friend!

It looks like there’s some quite thick ice there. I like the first shot with the leaves at the edge 🙂
