NYBG 1

The New York Botanical Garden, Bronx, New York has spring flowers. It took me a while to edit and enhance these. I will make two posts. I did not be take any pictures of the temporary (until October) “art” exhibit which is very ugly and detracts from the beauty of the garden.

I smiled at your comment about the garden’s added art. The only time I’ve found myself wishing I could see a garden/art combination in person was when I saw photos of Dale Chihuly’s glass botanical installations.

That last photo is a gem. The combination of the concave branch and the convex shadows is perfect. The Japanese Andromeda is stunning. The shape of the flowers reminds me of something I saw in east Texas, which I couldn’t identify. I need to make another run at that.

I saw the Chihuly exhibit at NYBG years ago and loved it. His glasswork fits in so well with nature. Kusama’s polka dots do not blend in at all https://www.nybg.org/. I wish I knew the name of the last red flowering tree. Thanks you so much 🙂

Oh, yikes! I’m not sure where I’d place that one.

Incredible springtime flower series, Sherry, pure beauty. And your mastery of magnolias is outstanding.

Most of these are so delicate that I can believe the time they took

🙂 I masked the flowers as a separate layer and added filters and texture layers underneath to the backgrounds in Photoshop. That helps make the flowers stand out.

Yes they are. Except when they fill them with art I do not like. I prefer just plants.
