To show it can be done, I took some extra time to remove the dead branches. Not 100% perfect but it will do.
I wanted to change the light and make it a bit more romantic. To do that I used two other photos, one of a sunrise and another of a flowery meadow. In Photoshop I masked parts of them off. I also used overlays; a photo filter to put a little blue back in and a warming filter. The screen capture shows how I masked the layers.

Great editing work, Sherry. The differences are so huge and pretty well done. I like the version without the branches – the hotel looks more subtle and glorious. Thank you so much for sharing the tips and layer options!

I really love this! Is this done in Lightroom?

Sorry, I did not say so because I thought it was obvious with my illustration of the layers used. Lightroom doesn’t make layers. Starting in Lightroom I did a few minor enhancements before doing the majority of the work in Photoshop. Glad you like it. I try to be subtle about it.

Oh, ok. I don’t have a new version of Lightroom and never use my old version so I wasn’t sure. It looked bit different than Photoshop but I have an old version of that too. I need to update!

I’ve been dragging my feet as it requires a new computer too. I can’t decide on Dell or Mac and when it comes to cameras I am equally torn between Nikon and Cannon. Ugh. Decisions. Decisions.

For me it is PC I get twice the computer power for the same money. Microsoft now offers the same support as Apple – go with what you know. Nikon or Canon doesn’t matter – flip a coin. 🙂
