A recurring dream of mine: New York City became flooded, and we live on the 4th floor by the Hudson River. A rowboat rowed by nuns comes to our window, and I climb in. We row of into the darkness. There are many other little boats with lights in the Hudson River. The city lies in darkness, but I feel content. I get into my sleeping bag and stare up at the stars as I drift off to sleep.
I sent in the text to Loóna – fall in love with sleep again (loona.app) as part of their new “Turn your sweetest dreams into art” and they used AI to create these images of my dream. I altered them a little. I turned off the city lights because if the city became flooded there would be no lights. I like to use Loona to help me get to sleep.

Those images are spectacular.

Amazing what AI can create isn’t it. Too bad they left the lights on. I fixed that.

Scary dream, Sherry, but beautiful images. In 1977, I drove from Pittsburgh to New York to look for an apartment. I left the night of the blackout, thinking the electricity would be restored before I arrived. It wasn’t, and the view of that dark city on the other side of the bridge was something I will never forget.

I wasn’t scared during the dream. I felt calm. I was her during the 1977 blackout. It must have been surreal seeing it from the outside. I remember another one in 1965 https://www.amny.com/news/blackouts-nyc-1-33881190/ I was impressed with Loona’s images.
