Last Sunday we walked on the High Line. I didn’t take the time to use iNaturalist to identify all the Spring flowers.

What beautiful and occasionally unfamiliar flowers. The redbud sprouting straight from the trunk is amazing. I can’t say for sure, but it’s possible that the dark blue, unidentified buds are a species of Amsonia — blue star. We have two native species here, and the leaves of these look rather like one of our species.

Thank you. You maybe right. The High Line tries to stick to native plants. I had a look online at Amsonia but the leaves didn’t look quite right. I’ll try to find out what it is when the flowers open.
