In September, 2012 we took a birding tour with Bob Duchesne to Grand Manan Island, New Brunswick, Canada. We stayed at the Marathon Inn. It was one of the best vacations of my life.
We started from Bangor, Maine, then next day met up with the small group and took a ferry from Blacks Harbor, New Brunswick, Canada to Grand Manan. A short trip to the marshes then back to the charming hotel.
My list of birds seen out of the expected species: Sherry’s Manan count
The trip included seeing parts of the Island, such as Dark Harbor where they farm kelp and fish.
One of the days was a pelagic trip to see birds and whales.
the bog photo, is so different I really like it! great shots … and happy that you had a wonderful time on your holiday!! 🙂 cheers, Debi

Thanks Debi. The bog photo was bland so I messed with it in Photoshop. Inverted layers, hid some parts and let other parts show.

I’ve never been to the east coast of Canada (shame on me), but from your photos it looks beautiful and not all that different from the west coast. Looks like a fantastic spot for a vacation.

It is lovely. I think the character of the trees and rocks differ from those on the West.
