Flaco the Eagle-owl

Flaco the famous Eurasian Eagel-0wl escaped form the Central Park zoo on February 2, 2023. He has managed very well. I finally took a trip to the park to see him for myself on March 21. He was napping in his new favorite tree over a waterfall in the Lock. Perhaps he likes the sound of the waterfall.

How cool! Hope it finds some other owl friends to hang out with.

They won’t be the same species, so I doubt he’ll hang out with other owls. They tend to be solitary unless mating and there are none of his kind here. At least I am sure he is happier free.

Great photos and an amusing video clip. I hope Flaco lives a long and happy life in the trees of Central Park 🙂

He is happy, I am sure. Pity there will not be a mate for him here. He hoots a lot.

Owls are fascinating birds, I still hope to see one in free nature.

I’m glad it got through. I was wondering if there was a block on it. I have often found videos blocked here in the US that come from other countries.
