The Art Students League

I met Marc, my husband, at The Art Students League in New York City. We both attended drawing classes there in 1966. The state sent him there because that’s what they thought he was suited for after testing his abilities. I wanted to be an artist. I had scraped up enough money to go there during the summer. my girlfriend Donna also came with me. While waiting for class in the hall I nudged her and said he’s cute let’s go talk to him. Marc invited us to come help him clean an apartment. That was my first date.

For Thursday Doors 7/20/2022.

I really liked the elegance of the facade of the Art Students League, Sherry. I find artists gathering places are not usually so elegant. Funny story of your first date.

Haha, cleaning an apartment is unusual for a first date. The upside is that to get to know a person’s way of working very quickly – which is important:) This door is beautiful, and I like how they have framed it!

Wonderful door and a lovely story. Not your typical first date, but it seems like it worked out well.
