These are the few insects I captured. My last photo is of the invasive Spotted lanternfly – Wikipedia. I was sorry to see so many nymphs there.

I am sorry to hear the spotted lanternfly is an invasive insect, because the nymph is so beautiful. The Japanese Beetle is also beautiful and unfortunately invasive. I really enjoyed all your photographs, Sherry, they are clear and intimate portraits of insects I would not ordinarily see so closely. That ebony jewelwing doesn’t occur in the west and it’s so elegant.

Invasives do it very well most of the time as they have les enemies. I’m afraid lots of people will be not so happy with this guest form China.

Because of the way you frame your insect photos with green growth, I might even come to like them! How fashionable the polka dotted one! 🙂

I’d love to find an Ebony Jewelwing some day. As for that Lanternfly — I don’t believe I’ve ever seen such a uniformly polka-dotted insect.

  Jewel wings are common in the NE. As for the lantern fly, I hope you don’t see them, it spells doom. See my link above.
