W 73 Street Doors

These doors are up by Central Park. Mansions like these can be found on both sides of Central Park. Many are from the gilded age era which extended roughly from 1870 to 1900. We just finished watching the Gilded Age series on HBO.

For Thursday Doors 3/24/2022.

I enjoyed the series. The dresses are amazing.
“”The Gilded Age” and “Downton Abbey” are both period pieces created and written by Julian Fellowes. Michael Engler, a director on both series, told Insider that he views them as separate entities.” (MSN)

Wonderful metalwork today, Sherry. I like #3 and like Dan, I like peering through that last gate.

These doors are all so elegant, Sherry! I am intrigued by the first double door, is that a security door? In my opinion it kinda ruins the beauty of the wooden door inside. Well anyway.

It looks like they added the glass door to protect the carved wooden door. I agree, it spoils the view. 🙂 Thanks.

It’s incredible that all these majestic doors are on one street. Great photos, Sherry, highlighting their beauty. And that second one with the shadows is especially handsome.

The play of light and shadow makes the second door photo my favorite, but the shy little flower (an orchid?) peeking out of the window in the first is a wonderful touch.

These are all beautiful. I think I prefer the iron gates, but that door at the top is lovely. Great photos (as usual). I particularly like the bottom image with all the various elements behind the gate.
