Dinka’s Vocabulary DOB 4/29/2003 – 3/11/2022 9:15 am.

I forgot some, I’m sure. It is so quiet without him. Dinka knew when to use these words. He isn’t here for us to scramble an egg for breakfast or to share our dinners with. He was such a character. He liked to snuggle on my stomach. Tickle himself with his spoon. Shake balls with bells inside and ring a bell for treats. He liked fancy cheeses, meat, grapes, lobster legs and more. He was so sweet.

    Quite a vocabulary. I guess he like those eggs. I think it was sweet of him to say Bye Bye. I’m sorry for the quiet.

    Wow, very impressive, Sherry! I like how he imitated noises, like the cat’s meow, as well as words. And #18 made me laugh. 😀 I’m going to share this list with my parrot-loving son.

    Good Morning Sherry, Reading Dinka’s Vocabulary and seeing in the recollection of him the life you lived together and now your heartbreak brought to mind Maurice Sendak’s words as his dog was dying “Please don’t go, we love you so!” My heart goes out to you and Marc. With Love Linda

    His vocabulary was wonderful — a sure sign of the interaction you had. I was pretty impressed with his food preferences, too. I’ve not been around parrots, and didn’t realize their taste could be so wide-ranging!

      If he wanted me, he called out Mummy. I didn’t teach him that word. If he didn’t like a food, he threw it on the floor. Sometimes we tried to make him eat fruit while we ate fruit and cheese. He wanted cheese and threw the fruit away. He ate all sorts of things.
