Slipper Orchids

We went to see the orchid show at the New York Botanical Gardens in the Bronx on February 26, 2022. Here is the first set of 5 posts. I was able to modify the backgrounds in Lightroom by using the the new select subject masking which allowed me to change the colors and blur to suit my taste.

I so enjoyed this marvelous gallery of elegant slipper orchids, Sherry. It is such a unique flower and you did a great job of capturing all the different angles, beautiful light, intimate details. My favorite is #7, reminds me of a long-winged bird in flight.

These certainly are flashier than our native orchids. We have Ladies Slippers, but I’ve yet to find one in the wild.
