Manhattan Skyline

We went by Ferry from Battery Park City at Vesey Street for a photoshoot at Paulus Hook, Jersey City in November with Sierra Photo of New York City to photograph the moon over the Freedom Tower in Manhattan.

As the sky changed colors so did the light and color on the buildings in Manhattan.

We spent a lot of time waiting for the moon to peak out of the clouds. It finally did. I was amused by the moon creating a moonsicle on the antenna on top of the Freedom Tower.

Well done for patiently waiting for the moon. All great shots but my favourite is the first one.

Excellent pics!! That was a very nice evening. First time I had the opportunity to take pictures from that perspective. Nice getting together with you and other club members who participated.

“Moonsicle” is one of the best words — and metaphors — ever! And I’m always stirred by photos like these. Given all the news about NYC these days, it’s good to be reminded of how beautiful it can be.

Today at work I suddenly imagined Cat Stevens singing a parody of “Moon Shadow” — “Oh, I’ve been licking on a moonsicle, moonsicle, moonsicle…”

I never get tired of seeing that skyline, Sherry. Great sequence with the moon and the Freedom Tower.
