Dessau Museums

I wanted to see the Bauhaus (Wikipedia) but the timed entry dissuaded me.

The two statues are of Kurt Weill (Wikipedia) and Bertolt Brecht (Wikipedia). I associate them with the famous singer Lotte Lenya (Wikipedia). Play the Moon above Alabama for an example.

I would have passed on both museums, but I certainly enjoyed seeing those statues. I was ‘introduced’ to Lotte Lenya through the Threepenny Opera and the lyrics to “Mack the Knife.” There’s a great video online of her singing the song in German.

    I did play that. It took me back immediately to 1968, when the Doors album I bought included their version of the song.
