Senftenberg – which part of Germany is this? Am asking because hubs lived 3, and I one year in Germany (Berlin). Love the screens of the green doo, but the black door is just the right backdrop for the plant hanging next to it! I may be wrong, but my impressions is that most doors are wide and strong looking (not with much glass in it like California, haha). Great series, Sherry:)

Senftenberg is a town in southern Brandenburg, Germany, capital of the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district. Wikipedia. Yes, German doors are sturdy 🙂

Such variety. The first word that came to mind when I looked at the second photo was “sally port.” If that family’s home truly was their castle, that would be appropriate! Do you know anything about its function in this case? It certainly makes for an attractive image.

There are so many wonderful doors and entrances in this group Sherry. The building with the continuous frieze (not sure that’s the right word) that gives the appearance of an outdoor windowsill is so interesting. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen that done on multiple floors. The doors run from strong to intricate to stately. I love the pair of white doors at the bottom. Your other pictures from this trip are beautiful. Thanks for sharing these with Thursday Doors.
