Then we high tailed it off to the Gentle Giants whale and puffin tour at Husavic, Northwest Iceland on July 17. I didn’t get to see puffins up close. The boat didn’t approach close to the island with the puffins. I was told that the currents were too fierce that day. We were supposed to head out to see the whales but the but one of the engine’s broke and we had to turn around and head back to harbor very slowly. I managed to get a few shots of Puffins, a Guillemot, and a Skua. They offered a refund or a later tour. We had no time, so we opted for the refund.

    I adore Puffins. During my cruise of Glacier Bay I picked up an enameled metal tag showing two puffins that I kept on my keychain for years, until the image finally wore away.

      Thanks for sharing that memory. Puffins are so adorable. I like the shot of one submerging with its head underwater.

    Such a shame you didn’t get the full tour but at least you got a refund. I love the first photo of the ships and the wooden church looks beautiful 🙂

    Hi Sherry 🙂 My brother & sister in law were in Iceland a few years ago a couple days, on their way to England, and wired me pictures of a short ‘aurora borealis’ viewing cruise. Your adventures there are integrating 🙂 thanks for sharing ~Willy

      I would need tot go in winter to see the Northern Lights. I am game but Marc hates the cold.
