Doodletown

We went on a terrific field trip to Doodletown on Saturday. We saw many wonderful birds spotted by a sharp group of birders. Marc found a Five-lined Skink. I spotted the Worm-eating warbler. Everyone contributed sightings. The American Wisteria was blooming allover the place. It was a glorious day.

The full birds report will eventually be posted on the Linnaean NY website Field Trip Reports page.
I didn’t bring really long lens, consequently, the bird images are very grainy.

I had an Indigo Bunting stop in my backyard earlier this week. They are life affirming. It looks like you had a lovely trip.

Another enticing trip. The bird pictures are good all the same without the long lens.

I enjoyed the photo of the cemetery. Old, overgrown cemeteries are far more appealing to me than today’s ‘memorial gardens’ with every stone and urn the same.

I missed out on the Cerulean Warbler during the fallout at Dauphin Island last month, but did manage to get my first worm-eating which kind of made up for it. You definitely had a good day in an odd named place!
