Greenbrook

On a very cold day in early March at Greenbrook Nature Sanctuary in Bergen County, New Jersey on the Palisades. There was still ice on the lake. We didn’t stay long because it was so cold.

It has been heavily used by lots of new people during the pandemic. Many of them do not pay attention to the rules and go off trail and leave trash. The day we went was so cold only one care was there. Best to p[ick days with bad weather 🙂

There’s a lot to like here: the teal and brown in the first photo, and the harsh but attractive glitter in the second. But my favorite is the third. It’s interesting how the shadow reveals hidden detail, while the light hides it.

On a different subject entirely, it occurred to me this morning that you might enjoy The Bowery Boys, if you don’t already know them. I love their podcasts, and their posts always are interesting. I’ve never looked into their walking tours, since I’m a little far away to make use of those, but if I lived in NYC I certainly would.

Love your comments and thanks so much for the link to the Bowery Boys. It looks very interesting. We will check it out.. Marc and I love history. He leads a history tour of Greenwich Village.
