West Point Foundry Preserve

There are ruins and a few buildings left over form when the foundry was active. I was hoping for a waterfall but didn’t find it. Here’s a link to some of its history. Sometime I would like to visit the Putnam Museum.

That second photo really set my imagination spinning. First I thought, “With more snow, that could have been a scene from Dr. Zhivago.” Then I thought, “Orthodox monastery.” Then I looked at those three snow-topped posts, and the cupola, and saw the building instructing the posts: “If you work really, really hard, in time you can be as tall and grand as I am!”

    Merry Christmas!
