The Huguenot settlement in New Paltz was founded in 1677 on land purchased from the Munsee. Here’s a bit of native American history in the region.

    Whenever I see a stone house I always imagine 18inch walls that keeps everything out.. hot, cold. 😊 I wonder if anyone builds like that anymore😊. Nice post!!

        Yes. I’ve read that Hemingway’s old house on Key West has walls that thick and has with stood all those hurricanes!!
