I love the wispy grasses, especially at this time of the year.
Pink Muhly Grass (Poaceae, Muhlenbergia cappilaris), NYBG 10/11/2020 Grass, NYBG 10/11/2020 Switch Grass ‘Prairie Winds’ (Poaceae, Panicum virgatum), NYBG 10/11/2020 Grass, NYBG 10/11/2020
How unique and so beautiful!

It was such fun to see the pink Gulf muhly growing naturally on the Attwater prairie. I have three photos of it here, near the end of the collection. Switch grass is quite common here, too, although not as a cultivar. This one’s color seems more vibrant than our native grass, but even on the prairie its color can compete nicely with any other foliage.
I do love grasses, and the details that a macro lens can reveal.
