Cloudy Long Island Beaches

It rained on and off during the morning while we there at Gilgo, Captree, Jones and Robert Moses. I didn’t see many shorebirds. It was fun watching the terns fish and squabble. It’s been ages since I went to the shore and we enjoyed the trip and picnic.

The clouds add atmosphere. I love processing the RAW images in Lightroom to reveal what I saw that the camera could not capture. It’s like magic. The last two are by Marc.

Hi Cybele, We are fine after a mild case of Covid-19. Looking for a home in a more rural setting to move to. It’s very time consuming. I hope you are well too.

Thanks Derrick. Having a car to get out of the City makes up for not finding a new place to live yet.

Wonderful to see these shots. This was one of my favourite drives once.

I like what you get out of those dark, cloudy skies, for me it’s often a no-go. Well done.

Thank you. If the sky isn’t blown out and I shoot in RAW, I can use an overlay on the sky to make adjustments in Lightroom to bring out the detail in post.
