GV and Hudson

Greenwich Village and the Hudson River

I haven’t seen the streets in my neighborhood so empty since 9/11.

Above the couple of panoramas created in my cell phone is one I call “Hudson River Park – flames.” When I saw the rust pattern on the floating dock it mirrored a same shape in the skyline. I superimposed the pattern in Photoshop on the skyline to bring out what I imagined.

Never seen NYC looking like this. Our version of your shelter-in-place requires us to stay in the house, so very hard to take photos of this kind.

We are being told to limit outdoor time. I may go out for an hour or go out to buy food. If I am told to stay home at all times it would be hard to buy food. I would start to photograph tiny things in my home. I hope you are managing this well.

Well enough. We are stocking up on fresh food for a few days at a time, and going out within a common garden area for exercise. But already I’m starting to photograph veggies in the kitchen.

Empty streets are eerie on one hand and peaceful on the other. Our president has just announced a 21-day lockdown. It is our turn to look inwards and forgo the pleasures of exploring the outdoors.

Thank you for this collection of marvelous photographs of so many different venues. On the one hand, it is sad to see everything so empty. But, on the other hand, each location looks beautiful and tranquil in your photos!

Glad you enjoyed them. I found it spooky and at the same time calming.
