Red Leaves

Central Park 10/28/2018

Photographed with a Nikon D750 and a Sigma 120-600 mm F5-6.3 DG OS Contemporary lens at 600 mm. Processed in Lightroom, On1 PhotoRaw 2018, and Photoshop. I did not like the green in the original. I wanted only reds, I removed distracting elements, and added a texture.

The trashed version before processing in the “darkroom”.

I like them both, but I am no expert of photography, and so appreciate that you are. I find red leaves such a brilliant expression, how lucky we are that some trees do this. Lovely post, Sherry.

Thanks, but I really dislike the original and didn’t expect others to like it. The flaws are so obvious when opened full size which is why I processed it. I can’t tell others what to like, so l’ll leave out things I don’t like from now on. 😕

Lovely colours in the processed image (and non processed) Lightroom and On1 are my main workflow tools.

Glad you like on1 too. It is a terrific image enhancer. I added a texture to the background.
I guess you don’t notice the faults in the non-processed original like I do. There’s a distracting line at the bottom, leaves at the edges that pull the eye away from the subject, and a duller red than I saw when I photographed it. And the green competes with the red. I put the original unedited version up only as a comparison. Since art is subjective some will like the before version.

Thank you. I don’t like the original one which is why i processed it. It also has a line across the bottom.
