Grace Court Alley

I went to Brooklyn to visit Grace Court and Grace Court Alley. Most of these are good for

There a few gas lights too. Reminded me of London in the 50s when a lamplighter used come light the lamp outside my window every night.

I enjoyed these Grace Court Alley photos — such a lovely corner of Brooklyn. I like that flower box with the trailing vines. Wonderful photos, Sherry.

These are wonderful photos and beautiful doors. I like the details you captured in the brick work, as well as the accents. I love the picture with the lamp – that’s so classic looking. The image looking down the alley to the (park?) trees is my favorite. Very nice composition!

Thanks for sharing with Thursday Doors!

Beautiful. Your lamplighter story to me feels romantic and like early 20th century!

Gas lamps are very Victorian. Unfortunately, the gas lamps outside my window at Basset Road were replaced with orange street lights that made the room a ghastly color. Those are gone now too.

The ’50s lamplighter takes me back. I started work at Lloyd’s in Leadenhall Street in 1960. A lamplighter visited the market every day
