Insects and

I went to Central Park with only my Nikor-Micro f2.8 105mm G lens on my D750 to photograph small things. After throwing out almost all of them I am left with these. I apologize for the poor quality of a few but I included them because I am so proud of myself for identifying them.

I loved the pics so much. I just started a blog about animals and insects. I hope you can see it Sherry!

I think this is the first time I’ve ever seen pictures of individual wild species in Central Park (other than pigeons, perhaps).

Macro shots are really hard. Handheld next to impossible… in my opinion. But you have the right gear. Are you using a tripod, Sherry? The series creates the “hunger to eat more”. Well done! Greetings. Reinhold

All hand held. I find that the bug is gone before I can get a tripod in position. Also they see it. Thanks. 🙂

Great captures! Love the fly coming in for a landing. For me, that would have been a lucky shot with 75 bad shots on each side of the good one 😉

LOL Thanks it was a lucky shot. I took 200 shots and kept 25 on that day. Macro shooting is hard.

Great post. Amazing what we can find when we stop and look. I think the red-banded leafhopper is especially dazzling, Sherry.

Thanks Jet, That was on I had to include even though I didn’t get a clear shot of it.
