Jon L. Seagull

This is a project for the Infinity group at B&H Camera store’s Event Space. The assignment was supposed to be a portrait of a character from a well-known book. I am a bird watcher so I chose a book whose main character is a bird.

Photos by Sherry Felix edited in Photoshop. Inspiration: Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach.

It was morning, and the new sun sparkled gold across the ripples of a gentle sea.

For most gulls it was not flying that matters, but eating.

For this gull, though, it was not eating that mattered, but flight.
Why Jon, why? Why is it so hard to be like the rest of the flock?

A moment later Jonathan’s body wavered in the air, shimmering, and began to go transparent.

“Don’t let them spread silly rumors about me, or make me a god. O.K., Fletch?”

I couldn’t the moving images, my machine probably
    the stills were beautiful
the story line was a bit to human for me, especially the comments to Fletch
they didn’t flow like the images
    interesting direction, though

This is a famous book I chose to illustrate for that project. The quotes are ones I chose to use from the book. Each image illustrates each quote. Perhaps it only makes sense if you know the book Johnathan Livingston Seagull.
