Breaking Free of Winter

The Ice is melting in New York City. It went from 30 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit in a day or so. I wore my Spring coat and took a walk on the High Line. I love the mix of nature and architecture elements of this urban garden.

Great wintry photos, the last one was a fun surprise, I thought it was a horse’s mane at first. 😃

the’ grasses’ look like hair growing from underneath
I like this one very much*

the first one looks the opposite, consuming, instead of melting

the second, the contrast of form between the iron poles and the lovely tree is interesting,
    oh and the muted colours

    keep up the good work***

Thanks Lee. Your view of ice melting as looking like ice consuming makes me smile. Glass half full or half empty?

Thanks for the great comments Lee. Interesting that you would say consuming rather than melting. Perhaps because you don’t see much snow and ice in Australia. Melting snow leaves spaces around darker objects so it would not look like encroaching ice to most of us northerners.
