This softly colored photo of a female Purple Finch needed very little work to enhance it. I added a few outlines in white for separation.

Created in Photoshop. NIKON D610, f-stop 7.1, exposure time 1/500sec. ISO 5000, focal length 400mm, and max aperture 5.

Version 2. Added more definition to the bird and altered background.

    I like the Purple Finch. I would like to see clearer outlines of the streaking on this gorgeous bird.
    This is a very contrasty bird. I am glad of the muted background, because it will help to
    emphasize the Finch.

    I like the Finch and the oak leaves but I would like a bit more contrast with the background – maybe darker colors or less diffusion.
