This intent little Black-and-white Warbler was taken at Jamaica Bay in the Fall. I wanted to have Fall colors in the background, so I used a muted reddish photo of leaves taken a few days before in Central Park for the background.

Created in Photoshop with 20141002_Central_Pk_05 for background. NIKON D610, f-stop f7.1, exposure time 1/800 sec., ISO 1250, focal length 400mm, and max aperture 5.

I liked the background in the first version as it makes the bird and branch part of the scenery. I deleted the second version.

the first one with the background stronger and detailed
the little bird and branch works better as contrast to the coloured background

This picture is terrific. It shows the warbler doing what it loves to do, creep and eat. It really shows the beauty of the Black and White Warbler.

I agree with Louise. I love the B and W Warbler, but don’t like the faded out background so much.

Love the Black and While Warbler on the branch. Very sharp! Don’t like the background – too diffuse for my taste.
